The Swedish R&B landscape is witnessing the rise of a formidable new architect in Tove Evyn. At 28, the singer, songwriter, and producer is carving out a space where raw, bone-deep emotion meets high-gloss sonic refinement. Her latest single, “Go With It,” produced by the seasoned Malmö-based Slackin Beats (Elvis Suljevic), is more than just a follow-up to her 2025 debut, it is a sonic declaration of survival and self-discovery.
Listening to the track feels like stepping into a dimly lit, high-end bar in the heart of New York City. It is hypnotizing and hip-swaying, possessing a magnetism that makes you feel instantly more confident in your own skin. Tove’s voice runs incredibly smooth, layered with a precision that honors both the contemporary sensitivity of artists like Summer Walker and the timeless, effortless cool of Aaliyah or Destiny’s Child.
The journey of “Go With It” was anything but linear. While the initial spark was instantaneous (Tove recalls being pulled into the feeling of the beat the moment she heard it in Elvis’s studio) the songwriting process turned into a months-long creative marathon.
For an artist whose identity is rooted in authenticity, good ideas weren’t enough. Tove navigated hundreds of different verses and melodic structures, fueled by the frustration of knowing the “right” sound existed but hadn’t been captured yet. It was a test of artistic patience, rollercoaster that mirrored the personal upheaval she was experiencing at the time. When the melody finally clicked, the lyrics followed almost as if the song had been waiting for her to reach a specific level of emotional clarity.
“Go With It” was written during a transformative, often grueling period in Tove’s life. It serves as a visceral reminder of the power found in total surrender. The song explores the difficult, often contradictory balance of letting go of external control while simultaneously trusting your internal intuition.
Tove describes the meaning behind the music as a process of radical liberation:
“The song is about daring to let go. Letting go of who you think you’re supposed to be. Breaking free from the things that keep you stuck, in destructive patterns, in fear. I had to completely break down… but then something shifted, and I felt myself landing somehow. In something new. It was like finding a new place within myself–a place I had been trying to reach for a long time without quite knowing how to.”
This “landing” is palpable in the track’s atmosphere. There is a sense of calm that shouldn’t exist in a song about a breakdown, yet Tove manages to translate that newfound hope into every vocal run.

A Call to Never Settle
What truly sets Tove Evyn apart is her ability to make her personal healing feel universal. “Go With It” is an invitation to the listener to stop settling–whether that be in relationships, destructive habits, or their own self-perception.
The hypnotic production and lush vocal layers provide a safe space for the listener to dissect their own patterns. With a steady schedule of new releases already lined up (as well as the music video for Go With It), Tove is currently in the studio finalizing work on her highly anticipated debut EP, which is set to arrive later this year. As she moves forward from her self-produced debut “Want It Too,” Tove Evyn is proving that her brand of R&B is a necessary escape–a reminder that while growth is often messy, the destination of self-love is always worth the journey.
