# CULT MACHINE > Indie Music Magazine For Fans, By Fans. ★ ## Posts - [Tommy Lefroy Are Learning to Live with Uncertainty](https://cult-machine.com/tommy-lefroy-are-learning-to-live-with-uncertainty/): There is something hauntingly familiar about the landscapes of Tommy Lefroy’s The Precariat. Abandoned houses, decaying structures and forgotten corners of the American Plains form the visual world of the duo’s debut album, photographed by Brendon Burton. There is a sense of something left behind, of places and people caught between what once was and what might come next. It feels fitting for a record preoccupied with uncertainty. - [Trinity Lake’s New Single, “RUN,” Demonstrates The Intense Storytelling Craft Within Her Work](https://cult-machine.com/trinity-lakes-new-single-run-demonstrates-the-intense-storytelling-craft-within-her-work/): Trinity Lake’s new single, “RUN,” released on October 16, furthering her artistry in the pop scene. - [green star and the Making of a Modern Myth](https://cult-machine.com/green-star-and-the-making-of-a-modern-myth/): Do you ever come across a band and immediately find yourself getting lost in their world? green star certainly evokes that feeling. And while musicians have been hiding behind masks and anonymity for decades, Marino has made it part of his own language. Behind the paper-bag mask is an artist who writes openly about anxiety, growing pains, and the strange process of figuring yourself out, often disguising the weight of it all in songs that sound anything but heavy. - [Finding Peace in the Dark: Larissa Lambert on Her Debut Album, Yearning](https://cult-machine.com/finding-peace-in-the-dark-larissa-lambert-on-her-debut-album-yearning/): For a while, Larissa Lambert used music as a form of emotional survival, turning to her craft mainly when heartbreak or heavy trauma demanded to be processed. - [You Know Asia Makes Other Music, Right? A Conversation with DABDA, MANAGONA and Running Youth](https://cult-machine.com/you-know-asia-makes-other-music-right-a-conversation-with-dabda-managona-and-running-youth/): Asian music is so much more than K-pop. There’s a sentence that feels almost ridiculous to have to say in 2026. Cult Machine attended our first Indonesian music festival at Lalala Fest, and I was fortunate enough to attend on behalf of Cult. Beyond the strict choreographies, extravagant costumes and big labels, yes, Asia has its own massive and beautiful community of indie acts beyond K-pop. And I know this probably sounds like a silly thing to point out because, obviously, Asia makes music outside of K-pop. But it’s interesting how, from the outside, it sometimes feels like Asia gets categorised as one country, with K-pop becoming the easiest reference point for what “Asian music” is supposed to sound like. No hate for K-pop at all. I love that K-pop has created such a huge global community and brought so many people towards music from Asia. But Asia is huge. There are so many countries, scenes, languages, cultures and genres here that exist completely outside of it. - [It’s Earf’s World: Worldbuilding with Dublin’s Best Kept Secret](https://cult-machine.com/its-earfs-world-worldbuilding-with-dublins-best-kept-secret/): I’ve always had a great admiration for the Irish scene. - [Psychedelic In The Modern Era: Monarch’s Dominic Fanghella Discusses New Album MA3, Physical Media, And The Art Of Recording](https://cult-machine.com/psychedelic-in-the-modern-era-monarchs-dominic-fanghella-discusses-new-album-ma3-physical-media-and-the-art-of-recording/): The San Diego based psychedelic band Monarch has returned with a new studio album, MA3, via PFR Records, marking a new era for the band both musically and artistically. - [UNDERLINED PASSAGES DROPS LEADING SINGLE, "BRIGHT EYES," FROM NEW RECORD A QUIET CONDITION AHEAD OF ITS SEPTEMBER 10 RELEASE](https://cult-machine.com/underlined-passages-drops-leading-single-bright-eyes-from-new-record-a-quiet-condition-ahead-of-its-september-10-release/): Underlined Passages are prepping to drop their upcoming album, A Quiet Condition, which is dropping September 10 via Mint 400 Records. I’m also pretty relieved to see that she made it out of the Y2K-drenched cesspool that was 2020, sonically speaking. Slayyyter’s initial aesthetic leaned heavily into that side, and for the time it made perfect sense: pastels, shiny bling, and crude titles. The aesthetic worked for her, almost too well. However, seeing this transition, or rather transcendence into not only finding her own sound, but making it known, brought me a tremendous amount of joy. - [Giselle Transmutes Pain into Power on Her Most Courageous Release Yet](https://cult-machine.com/giselle-transmutes-pain-into-power-on-her-most-courageous-release-yet/): For most artists, a move to Los Angeles at 21 is a leap of faith fueled by stars in their eyes. - [Swaying Through the Ruins: Lykke Li’s Existential Triumph on The Afterparty](https://cult-machine.com/swaying-through-the-ruins-lykke-lis-existential-triumph-on-the-afterparty/): Over the last two decades, Swedish pop icon Lykke Li has served as modern music's premier high priestess of heartbreak. - [Inside Basement’s Intimate LA Takeover Before “WIRED”](https://cult-machine.com/inside-basements-intimate-la-takeover-before-wired/): Before “WIRED” officially arrives, Basement brought their new era to Los Angeles through intimate sets, familiar faces, and a crowd that never really left. - [Grinning Through the Pain: Jody Glenham’s "Love Deficiency Syndrome" is a Post-Breakup Anthem](https://cult-machine.com/grinning-through-the-pain-jody-glenhams-love-deficiency-syndrome-is-a-post-breakup-anthem/): For nearly two decades, Vancouver’s Jody Glenham has been a vital force in Canada’s independent music scene, crafting a cinematic brand of mood rock that feels as though it was composed directly from the air and atmosphere around us. - [An Immersive Masterpiece: Saint Mesa Reclaims the Throne with New Release "Lion"](https://cult-machine.com/an-immersive-masterpiece-saint-mesa-reclaims-the-throne-with-new-release-lion/): Saint Mesa is a Chilean-American project that has gained recognition for creating a cinematic, experimental, and dark sound. - [The Art of Landing: Tove Evyn Finds Her Rhythm in "Go With It"](https://cult-machine.com/the-art-of-landing-tove-evyn-finds-her-rhythm-in-go-with-it/): The Swedish R&B landscape is witnessing the rise of a formidable new architect in Tove Evyn. - [Did You Notice?
